Supply Planner, based near Wigan Lancashire Food Manufacturing FMCG

We are recruiting for a for a Supply Planner role for our leading FMCG Food Manufacturer..

Based near Wigan, Lancashire the role is commutable from Manchester Leigh, Liverpool, Warrington Bolton St Helens etc.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing the exchange of information between their designated Suppliers and our client to ensure that their order requirements are communicated in advance of purchase to secure capacity and materials
  • Ensure the availability of Bought In Finished Good (BIFG) products in line with the targets established via ABC classification
  • Ensure adherence to working capital commitments in line with the targets generated through the quarterly forecasts. Periodically report and comment on variances including pro-active actions taken to minimise issues
  • Manage the supply product life-cycle from conception to discontinuation following defined processes to minimize risk to both my client and their Customers
  • Pro-active analysis across the products of responsibility leading to inventory optimisation
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal departments and suppliers, driving for improvement via supplier performance reviews and scorecards
  • Pro-active identification and support of Continuous Improvement activity, ensuring that standard methods and tools are used day-to-day

The successful candidate will have:
  • Previous planning experience, ideally in an FMCG business (essential)
  • Experience of ERP principles (essential) and inventory management (desirable)
  • Possess strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel to at least intermediate level
  • A confident, pro-active approach and integrate well in a team
  • Proven analytical ability
