Due to continuing business success and growth we now have a fantastic opportunity available for a Head of Commercial to join our team across the UK.

Head of Commercial key responsibilities:
  • Review and prioritise commercial plans to add value, improve efficiencies, drive profit of the ERF division. Provide the necessary commercial support to the wider ERF business.
  • Develop and implement an innovative commercial strategy including assessing and prioritising new opportunities for ERF growth.
  • Help ensure that the ERF fleet operate as a profitable, sustainable and growing business and are supported by appropriate support contracts.
  • Understand the value drivers of the ERF business and identify profitable commercial opportunities to grow revenue and minimise costs. With particular focus on the IBA and APCR disposal strategy and commercial relationships.
  • Undertake market research and producing business plans/recommendations (including all associated costs and forecasted revenue for the business), to ensure that all business development opportunities are optimised.
  • Assess the risk to the business of commercial opportunities and establish appropriate mitigations.
  • Maintain awareness of external factors (including competitors, industry development, current and proposed legislation) which impact the business and communicate such information to the team.
  • Ensure that Viridor’s commercial interests are adequately represented and protected during joint venture initiatives.
  • Create and ensure short, medium and long term business plans with key milestones are delivered within selected business categories, driving clear accountability.
  • Identify innovative solutions for business optimisation and establish proactive relationship with joint venture partners and customers.

The ideal Head of Commercial:
  • Degree level qualification.
  • Driving licence.
  • Proven experience on leading complex commercial negotiations & proven ability to improve the bottom line.
  • Proven experience at identifying, delivering and embedding transformational change.
  • Knowledge of procurement and supply chain management.
  • Knowledge of commercial aspects of joint venture and Energy / process operations.
  • Knowledge of procurement and supply chain management.
