St Albans - Part Time, 15 hours per week (ideally to be worked on a Wednesday & Friday)

This award winning family law & divorce solicitors is now recruiting for an experienced HR Assistant to start November 2016 on a maternity cover of 9-12 months. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for an award winning law firm in the heart of St Albans.

Key Competencies
- Providing support to HR Partner
- Ensuring all administrative processes are completed accurately and in a timely fashion
- Accurate production of all HR documents and correspondence
- Maintaining accurate HR records and files
- Liaising with staff on HR issues
- Updating the HR Partner regularly on key issues and tasks in hand
- Effectively prioritising workload to ensure appropriate deadlines are met
- Demonstrate personal organisation
- Demonstrate confidentiality

Key Tasks
- Assist with day to day operations of the HR functions and duties
- Provide clerical and administrative support to Human Resources Partner
- Compile and update employee records (hard and soft copies) including the monitoring of absence.
- Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance reviews etc)
- Coordinate HR projects (meetings, training, surveys etc) and take minutes
- Deal with employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations
- Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data (absences, bonus, leaves, etc)
- Assist with the handling of complaints and grievance procedures
- Assist with the preparation of key forms and documents including policies and procedures
- Assist with recruitment; job documents, posting adverts and interviews
- Prepare and conduct induction of newly hired employees

Key Skills and Attributes
- Relevant HR experience
- IT literacy
- Basic knowledge of employment law is desirable
- Experience within a legal environment is desirable
- Excellent organisational skills
- Dependability
- Understanding of the importance of confidentiality
- Comfortably working independently
- Microsoft Office Skills
