Our client is looking for a full time Leasehold Officer to work with the Shared Ownership Team in Coventry. This role is being offered on a secondment basis for 12-months until the end of October 2017.

The Shared Ownership Leasehold team manages our client’s portfolio of leasehold properties.

The ideal candidate will have experience of Leasehold Management either within Shared Ownership or Right to Buy. However, consideration will be given to applicants who have worked in a Housing Officer role and can show an awareness of the concept of Leasehold Management and have:

  • Experience of dealing with customers, including customer complaints.
  • Experience of income collection. The ability to work on their own initiative, are good problem solvers and have a ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • The ability to easily absorb information and is keen to learn about this area of work.
  • A common sense approach is vital as is the ability to read and interpret complex documents (such as a lease agreement).
  • An organised approach and be happy to work as part of a busy team.
  • Please note that ASB and Lettings/Allocations is not part of a leasehold officer’s role and therefore housing officers who only have experience in this area will not be considered.

Working with a team of property officers, you will be responsible for delivering a high quality leasehold management service dealing with all aspects of leasehold management including: the setting and collection of service charges and rent, all leasehold enquiries, breaches of lease, procuring and managing contracts for services (i.e. grounds maintenance and cleaning) and ensuring leaseholders are consulted on works and services in line with the appropriate legislation.
