Job Purpose

The role involves working with work-based learners either on a one-to-one or small group basis, managing all aspects of the Apprenticeship or Advanced Apprenticeship frameworks in a variety of disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain learner caseload
Ensure learners achieve their framework within their allocated timeframe
Ensure learners are visited regularly and no learners' funding is put at risk
To achieve compliance on all auditable Learner paperwork
Diary completion and visits programmed well in advance
The ability to complete all relevant admin tasks
Ability to complete Information, Advice and Guidance sessions and Recruitment Days with employers as a representative of ICON and as the trainer for the given contract
To understand fully the national vocational standards for each qualification delivered
Ensure all learners are progressed regularly throughout their apprenticeships
Understanding Awarding Organisation and Sector Skills Council requirements and ensuring that learner assessment portfolios adhere to their guidelines
To regularly meet with employers to ensure we are meeting their needs and requirements, especially with regards to commercial training that falls outside the remit of the apprenticeship scheme which ICON can supply and support with
To monitor and coach all candidates in line with the job specification, adhering to the standards of the apprenticeship program to ensure consistency and fairness throughout all assessment delivery techniques
To be flexible and adaptable to the changing needs of learners and clients
To be the 'face' of the company and at all times deliver a professional and motivational approach to the apprentice
Maintain and update CPD in line with organisational standards and sharing of best practice skills with team members

Qualifications & Experience Essential

Industry Level 3 Qualification or Equivalent
GCSE English and Maths (C or above or equivalent)
3+ years' experience in the Leisure Industry
Strong Organisational and Time Management Skills


CAVA L3 or Equivalent
Previous Assessing Experience
Education and Training L3 or Equivalent
Experience of co-ordinating training programmes
An understanding of NVQ delivery
2 years management experience
Relevant Degree
Equality & Diversity L3
Key/Functional Skills L3
Level 3 Personal Training Certificate

Ability to work to tight deadlines and to be flexible in approach to work
Excellent time management, influencing and communication skills
Ability to build relationships at all levels
Enjoy working in changeable, operational environments
