Sociology Teacher - GCSE & A Level

Excellent teacher of Sociology required to work in an Outstanding secondary school in Leeds. The school are looking for a full time Sociology teacher to cover a long term maternity cover from September/Oct 2016 when the teacher is due to go on maternity. This is potentially ongoing for a full school year and you will be required to work Monday to Friday during school term time. There is the possibility of this reducing to part time hours further down the line.

As a teacher of Sociology you will be responsible for teaching GCSE and A Level Sociology groups and must have experience of this. Holding a teaching qualification within secondary i.e. QTS or FE is a must and you mut have taught in a secondary school with sixth form or a college. The teacher should be innovative in their curriculum development and initiatives that promote high quality teaching and learning strategies. They should have exceptional planning skills, outstanding behaviour management skills and be able to adapt their teaching to deliver lessons in a variety of teaching and learning styles.

This is a school of 1850 students on roll, including more than 300 sixth formers and a staff of 124 teachers, plus 101 support staff. The school is set in its own extensive grounds and has the staffing, facilities and courses available to educate students to university entrance level.
