Hours: Permanent position, 40 hours per week, 0830-1700 Mon-Fri
Holiday: 28 days including public holidays

Company
Our client is a well-established manufacturer and distributor of architectural ironmongery, glass doors, postal box systems and street furniture, based in Guildford, Surrey.

Principal purpose of position
To develop dependable supply sources and purchase all materials to the Company's exact business requirements, using Group deals where specified, at competitive rates, within budget and ensuring deliveries can be made and arranging payment for verified goods. Also ensures that all Group Purchasing specifications, policies and procedures are adhered to within the company.

Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience of purchasing.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ensure quality and performance of materials are in line with required standards.
- Inform other departments of all relevant information regarding changes in materials, major price movements, delivery lead times and individual supply situations.
- Ensure that Group buying deals are used. Arrange where possible to establish Group buying deals, in conjunction with the Head of Commercial and the Group Commercial Director.
- Maintain stocks using company software
- Forecasting price trends and their impact on future activities;
- Provide feedback about market analysis and possible growth;
- Producing reports and statistics using computer software;
- Attending meetings and trade conferences
- Accompany directors to occasional supplier visits
- Obtain supplier Order Acknowledgements for all orders
- Progressing orders
