The Martin Group of Companies (Est. 1976) provide specialist services to the construction and waste recycling industries, with a turnover in excess of c£100m. The Waste Management Division plays a pivotal role in serving many Private and Public Sector clients by use of state of the art systems to collect, separate and process a range of materials.
Reporting to the Head of Performance, the Compliance Manager role is to ensure that the Company complies with its Duty of Care requirements by carrying their rigorous site inspections of material outlets, internal sites and working closely with customers and stakeholders.
In addition, the Compliance Manager role will cover relevant legal compliance and proactively identify areas for service improvements at both a strategic and operational level, therefore knowledge of the Waste Recycling Industry would be preferable, although not essential.
In addition, the Compliance Manager will also assist with reviewing site environmental management systems and the production of Environmental Waste and Hazardous Waste returns.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate excellent communication and influencing skills in as well as a practical approach and be confident in actively managing situations and escalating operational issues, where appropriate.
