Our Client is a delightful, 13 yr old boy who lives with his family in Hapton, nr Burnley, Lancashire. He has Cerebral Palsy, and is severely physically disabled, but very bright. He is dependent in all daily living activities and requires a high level of assistance to undertake these.

The role of the Personal Assistant/Support Worker/Carer is to assist our client with all aspects of care. You will have a role promoting the Clients learning, care and independence in the home & community and will be expected to implement daily therapeutic programmes designed to promote his treatment.

Are you:
- A driver with a full driving license to drive in the UK
- Confident working in our client's home and sensitive to the needs & wishes of his parents
- *Physically fit - Even with specialist equipment & appropriate training, it is important that you are physically fit. A Handling Management Plan designed to reduce the risk of handling injuries may require you to bend, kneel, squat or lunge to ensure good posture during handling tasks.
- Confident supporting our client in a swimming pool.
- Confident supporting our client to access the wider community
- Understanding of confidentiality & privacy
- Confident & prepared to listen & learn new things
- Flexible with your approach to working hours
- Able to work as part of a team
- Responsible & proactive with an encouraging approach
- Reliable, trustworthy & able to work under own initiative & be creative
- Excellent at planning & able to 'risk assess' activities
- An excellent communicator with excellent social skills
- A good English speaker, to assist with Speech & Language therapy tasks
- Confident using IT
- Organised & an excellent time keeper
- A non-smoker
- Experienced/qualified in caring for children/young people with severe disabilities (desirable)
- Experienced in using specialist equipment with disabled people (desirable)
- Able to work additional hours as required (desirable)

Various part-time hours available during weekends, school holidays & bank hours to cover other staff absences: Wednesday 2.30-9pm, Thursday 5.30-9pm, Friday 6.15pm-9pm, Saturday 8.45am-1pm & 12.45pm-9pm, Sunday 4.30pm-9pm. These hours can be shared by more than 1 carer.

Pay & Benefits
From GBP10.00 per hour, depending on experience. Holiday entitlement & ongoing training &support provided. Free DBS.
