A Financial Controller is required to join an award-winning company and a world leader in the delivery of simulation and training solutions for Air Traffic Control operations.
Role Purpose:
- To provide all necessary financial support to the Management Team: monthly management reporting, reviewing price models, cash flow forecasting and budgeting
- To work with the Business Improvement team, Accounts Manager and Office Manager to streamline financial processes
- To be able to work unsupervised and meet reporting deadlines
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of all financials for monthly reporting and forecasting, annual budget and 5 year planning, ensuring timeliness and integrity of submissions
- Provide financial support to Programme Managers in the preparation of the monthly project reports.
- Deliver accurate and timely month-end reporting including accruals and prepayments, generation of profit and loss accounts, variance analysis and commentaries for the management accounts
- Review of the monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Provide oversight and support for financial accounting decisions ensuring ethical behaviours and practices at all times
- Provide all necessary finance support to the Executive Team of the company and the Group Board
- Maintain labour cost and sales rate data to assist management in reviewing department labour efficiencies and performance, and overhead recovery rates
Core Competencies & Experience:
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
- Good knowledge of Sage Accounts (desirable)
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in cross-functional teams and to influence others at all levels of the business
- ACCA/CIMA part qualified or above with good accounting experience and strong intellectual curiosity and a logical mind
- Prepared to work flexibly to achieve deadlines and multi-task, re-adjusting priorities and delivering accordingly
- Exposure and application of project and overhead recovery accounting methodologies
