Senior Medical Officer
(Screening, Maternal and Child Health) (Grade 5)

Salary: £66,850 - £78,275 (under review)

This is an important and exciting post providing the post holder with the opportunity to be at the forefront of influencing and leading Northern Ireland's strategic approach to promoting and improving the health of the public through the development of screening policy and matters related to maternal and child health issues. Enabling every child to have the best start in life in order to maximise their full potential is a key requirement for individuals to develop and grow with a sense of well being and contribute to the economic and social well being of their community. As such the reach of this post extends to ensuring the health and well being of both the present and future generations.

This is a permanent appointment, however consideration would also be given to filling this post via a Secondment, the post may be taken on a full time or part time basis (minimum 30 hours per week).

Should the post be filled on a part time basis the subsequent salary would be pro-rata.

The impact of communicable diseases can have a profound effect upon the economic and social well being of countries and as such the reach of this post extends well beyond the health sector.

This is a permanent appointment, however consideration would also be given to filling this post via a Secondment, the post may be taken on a full time or part time basis (minimum 30 hours per week).

Should the post be filled on a part time basis the subsequent salary would be pro-rata.
