We are continuously recruiting for Food Production Operatives / Packers to work at our client’s busy food production site in Batley, West Yorkshire.

Reporting to the Line Leader, the main duties of the role include packing biscuits into various types of packaging, as well as general warehouse duties as and when required.

Other responsibilities will involve adhering to a “clean as you go” policy, including sweeping, mopping, scraping and washing work areas, as well as ensuring all floors on your line are free of any trip or slip hazards.

Manual dexterity is needed and you will be required to carry out repetitive tasks as necessary.

Please note, applicants must be able to stand throughout the shift and be able to lift heavy loads if required.

Previous food production experience is desirable but is not essential as full training will be provided, including basic food hygiene. Own means of transport is preferred, however there is public transport available to get to and from the site for most of the given shift times.

The shifts available are either rotating or nights.

The rotating shifts will be one week on the early shift of 7am to 2.30pm followed by one week on the late shift of 2.30pm - 10pm Monday to Friday - workers on this shift are entitled to two 20 minute unpaid breaks. Candidates must be able to work both shifts on a rotational basis.

The pay rate for the rotating shifts will be:

  • Up to & including 34.20 Hours will be paid at £7.20 per hour
  • Over 34.20 Hours will be paid as £9.00 per hour

The fixed night shifts will be from 10pm to 7am, Monday to Thursday. Workers on this shift are entitled to one 20 minute and two 15 minutes unpaid breaks.

Prior to starting work you will be required to complete and pass a literacy test.
