Our client is a Further Education College offering a wide range of courses to over 5000 full time students and over 5650 part time students each year. The college currently works with over 50 high school partners, welcoming students from Bury and the surrounding areas.
They are now looking to recruit a part time (14.8 hours per week, term time only plus 2 weeks) Learning Facilitator – Music to facilitate learning in a way which complies with the College objectives ensuring quality of provision for students is maintained and developed.
Supporting students to enhance their learning by demonstrating equipment, practical activities and supervising projects and giving advice and information where necessary, you will assess students’ practical competencies and monitor attendance in the learning area. Working with course teams to develop new tasks and teaching materials, you will be responsible for the purchase and organisation of stock/equipment and for the monitoring and maintenance of records for equipment movements within the Music Section.
You must also set up equipment for student sessions especially with reference to recording and MIDI equipment, as required and maintain all equipment to a safe standard; checking for faults on a regular basis and repairing equipment as appropriate.
With at least two years’ experience of working with music in an educational / industrial or commercial environment, you should have knowledge and experience of sound engineering in both studio based and live situations and a background of working with students and delivering Music demonstrations. Able to use a wide range of appropriate music software (in particular MIDI and audio applications), you should have excellent communication skills and hold a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Music or a related subject.
