The Company:

Our clients are a leading Clams Management Company dealing with various financial claims such as Investments and Packaged Bank Accounts.

They are currently looking to expand their business by doing further market and business research in similar areas. The successful candidate will be joining the company on a work placement to take on a role primarily focused on researching various areas of business opportunities within banking and financial industry.

The Role:

The position will primarily involve researching. It will involve understanding data primarily through fact sheets, news stories or financial reports and uploading the information gathered on to given excel reports in an accurate and concise manner on a daily basis. Some direct contact, such as telephoning and emailing, with relevant businesses may also be required to encourage businesses to provide us with data or to iron out any discrepancies in the data. The role may also involve mystery shopping either by email or telephone.

Working within a team you will primarily be responsible for:

• Following daily financial and business news and updating research databases.

• A close attention to detail, reading of fine print and analytical thinking are particularly important as the accuracy and the quality of our information is paramount.

• Communicating and coordinating with the team to ensure research is updated accurately and in a timely manner, and to convey issues and solutions. The successful candidate will be using Microsoft Excel to analyse large data sets and to control the quality and accuracy of the data.

Successful Candidate:

The position calls for a highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills, comfortable working with numerical data and an analytical orientation. The ideal candidate will have at least a bachelor’s degree. Fluency in written and oral English is essential.

Patience and the focus to update a number of profiles, and a keen eye for detail are critical to the accuracy and quality of our information and, in turn, to the success of our output.

You will need to be the sort of person who follows a process through consistently, and who is thorough in completing and checking their work.

You will have to have a proactive approach to dealing with issues, investigating anomalies and a desire to get to the bottom of a problem.

The ability and enthusiasm to work independently within a highly focussed, supportive and friendly team is also important.

You should be interested in gaining experience and exposure to the financial services industry and learning and developing knowledge of relevant issues.

Benefits:

This is voluntary position. The company will pay for the lunches and the travel. The position will last for 4 weeks but may extend if agreed by both parties. This is a perfect opportunity for a candidate looking to enter career related to finance, business and research roles.
