Home Care Manager

The organisation recognises the growing demand for high quality social care in our area. We therefore want to use the experience of our Hospice at Home model to provide care in the home to more people in our community.

In the near future we will be working to establish a new and extended service for local authority, continuing healthcare and personal budget service users.

We are seeking a motivated, experienced and business focussed individual to fill the role of the Care at Home Manager, to be the responsible Manager for this service.

This will be a full time position working closely with Nursing, Social Worker and Rehab colleagues within the hospice. The post holder will play a pivotal role in the initial set up and design stage of this service provision. Additionally the care at home manager will ensure that service users requiring care and support in their home receive an integrated and high quality service in a professional and timely manner.

Qualifications Required:

Either:

* A relevant vocational qualification (QCF level 5) or
* A professional qualification and registration (Social
Work, Nursing, OT or Physio) AND
* Leadership and Management in Care Services in Care
Award or equivalent or
* a commitment to commence the required qualification
within 3 months of employment and qualify within 2
years
In addition, proven experience of managing a care service
and of managing employees is required.

The successful applicant will have a relevant vocational /professional qualification or commitment to commence the required qualification within 3-6 months of employment. They must have proven management experience within a care agency.

The care at home manager will directly manage a team of carers, and will be responsible for the efficient running of the service, service user satisfaction, service revenue and operate in line with the approved business plan and budgets. They will be required to develop the service, its policies and procedures, be responsible for recruitment and selection and ensure training, development, appropriate supervision and appraisals.
