Fixed-term contract to 30 September 2017
Based in Harlow

25 ½ hours per week in term-time (banking 20 minutes per week to be used at an alternative time of the year, in agreement with your manager) 
37 ½ hours per week in Easter, Summer and Christmas school holidays (banking 30 minutes per week to be used at an alternative time of the year, in agreement with your manager)

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and innovative person to oversee and directly deliver services for children with a disability, known as Short Breaks provision. 

You should have experience of working with children and young people with a disability and leading on delivery of services within a play or care setting, and should be qualified to at least NVQ Level 2 in Play Work, Children's Care Learning and Development or hold some other qualification relevant to the position. 

You will take a lead role in relation to all aspects of service delivery and will oversee a small team of highly skilled and experienced play workers to deliver Saturday Club sessions, a weekly Youth Club session and all-day Play Scheme sessions in the main school holidays. 

You will be required to plan and deliver a range of activities that are both fun and stimulating, supervise children, administer medication, attend to service users personal care needs and regularly liaise with parents and carers. 

You should possess sound knowledge and understanding of Ofsted requirements for play and care settings, Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Disability, Equal Opportunities, Child Development and the cultural needs of children and young people from all backgrounds.

You should have experience of working within a confidential environment and be able to create, maintain and store confidential records, both electronically and in hard format. 

You will be required to complete an application for a Disclosure and Barring Service Check and any offer of employment will be subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks.
