This accelerated growth ISP company requires an up and coming technical professional specialising in the field of internet systems support services. You will have worked within the IT industry thus possessing a good understanding of technical support services with all of its components, and are now ready for a new challenge.

In detail
To provide 2nd line technical support in accordance with ITIL best practice.

Working in a demanding environment you will provide high levels of technical expertise for network and server support along with associated technologies. This is an important role within the department and the successful candidate will have input to a wide variety of projects and will be required to carry out general maintenance based at their head office in Warrington, Cheshire in addition to their data centers and on customer premises within the UK.

The successful applicant will:

- Provide 2nd Line Technical Support dealing with service requests via telephone, email & our internal support systems.
- Provide remote support, occasionally taking remote control of end-user systems to diagnose problems.
- Take ownership of service requests, being pro-active when communicating with clients, suppliers and internal departments
- Being able to identify the requirement to escalate an incident, ensuring the highest quality of service delivery at all times.
- Complete regular maintenance work within our data centre environment
- Manage and deliver a wide range of projects on time and to budget

Where necessary, provide technical documentation and assist with the delivery of internal and customer projects.

Due to the nature of the role some work will be required to be performed out of normal office hours.

The Person

This position requires a "live, eat and breath it character" whereby it's a personal interest of achievement with focused commitment to the company's development to which rewards are great.

- Good knowledge of broadband, TCP/IP and network fundamentals
Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Server Operating Systems, Exchange & SQL Server and associated products.
- Good understanding of virtualization and VMware products.
(MCTS, MCSA, MCSE equivalent)
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
- Technical authoring
- Flexible approach to work and able to work under pressure

Experience Required:
- 2+ years in a senior technical support or senior engineering role within a Microsoft based environment
- Hands-on experience of network design, implementation and troubleshooting
- Good working knowledge of the following:
- Microsoft Server Operating Systems deployment, management
- Microsoft Exchange Server
- Microsoft SQL Server
- VMware vSphere hands on experience an advantage
- Some Linux & Citrix experience desirable but not essential
- Patch management
- Networking fundamentals
