We are consistently recruiting for Warehouse Operatives to work at our client’s busy distribution site based in the Avonmouth area.
 
The main duty of the role will be to use manual handling equipment within a large chilled warehouse to pick a variety of fresh produce - ranging from fresh vegetables, dairy products, desserts etc. Successful candidates will be working in a chilled & ambient warehouse, operating both manual and electrical pallet trucks and stacking items into roll cages, guided by digital wrist mounted computers and trigger scanners.

This role includes some heavy lifting and repetitive actions in the picking and stacking of the cages and dollies. A high level of attention to detail is required to ensure accuracy in order picking and awareness of other colleagues is needed whilst using the trucks. Other duties may include loading and unloading and site hygiene.

Applicants will ideally have some experience of working within a warehouse environment, however this is not essential as candidates will receive a comprehensive induction and ongoing training.
 
Candidates will start on a temporary contract, however the successful completion of the training period may result in a permanent employment contract.
 
The hours of work available are fixed day and night shifts, working any 5 days out of 7. Please see the shift normal patterns below, there may be other start times available:

• Day shift -     7.00am – 3.00pm
• Late shift -    3.00pm – 11.00pm
• Night shift -  11.00pm – 7.00am

The pay rate starts at £7.20 per hour, however if candidates meet and exceed the 100% pick rate, the rate of pay will be up to £8.10 per hour for day shifts and £8.36 per hour for night shifts. Weekend premiums and overtime hours are also available.
