PE Teacher required
We are currently working with a Student support Unit in the Luton who are seeking a qualified PE teacher also who is available straight away and able to solely run a PE department.
You will be the only PE teacher on site, and will be responsible for all PE lessons. It is essential you are happy to get involved on day trips out, and bring a everyday is a new day approach.
You will need to have a great understanding of pupil behaviour and the speed at which moods and atmospheres can change quickly.
You will be working in small groups with sometimes additional support from a learning support assistant or a teaching assistant.
You have on site parking and access to all facilities
There are just over 25-30 students who attend the School weekly. Some students only attend 2-3 days a week. The School works closely with all of our 11 secondary schools in Luton, where they work with students who are permanently excluded or who have learning/behavioral difficulties or some students who are from deprived backgrounds that need 1:1 teaching, and closer relationships that only this school can provide.
The aim for this school is to support and develop learning skills across all Key subjects with students to sometimes build confidence or strengthen the behavior in a safe and secure environment.
I have been working closely with the school for 4 years and we have a great understanding of the needs and direction in which the School is heading.
The school is extremely supportive and happy to invest time and training into the right person.
It's important for us as recruiters to know exactly what our schools are looking for in staff. You will need to have experience of working in these types of schools and students with the following:
SEBD - Social Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties.
Short Stays/PRU - children that are unable to be in school including exclusions
ASC - Autistic Spectrum Condition
PMLD - Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties
SLD - Severe Learning Difficulties
Secure Units/YOI (Young Offender Institutions)
