Our company client is widely respected retail organisation who are currently looking to hire an efficient and dynamic Category Buyer to join their team based in Central London. This is a unique opportunity to join a forward thinking organization who truly invests in their people and future.
Main responsibilities and measures will cover:
* Develop relationship with key suppliers through effective commercial management
* Drive sales and profit in line with operating plan budgets
* Prepare and agree category plan with Management Team through analysis of customer insight, sales and trends
* Set clear range and price strategies to optimise product choice, understanding space requirements
* Set effective promotional and marketing plan
Background and competencies required for this job:
* Good understanding of purchasing processes and practices in a fast moving retail/service organisation
* Excellent planning, organisation, commercial awareness, analytical and negotiation skills
* Degree level education or equivalent
* A minimum of 1 years' successful related experience in FMCG and retail procurement
* Strong communication and influencing skills
* Strong computer skills - Excel / PowerPoint/ word
