Our client is an innovative and quirky FMCG business who are actively seeking to recruit a fast paced and personable Buyer for their growing food company located in London. The successful applicant will be responsible for sourcing and setting up contracts and supply for raw materials (dried ingredients, proteins and packaging). This is a unique opportunity to join a forward thinking organization who truly invests in their people and future.
Main duties for this role will cover:
* Manage raw material costs in the supply chain.
* Identify and deliver cost savings and added value in procurement of ingredients/raw materials/packaging
* Support the NPD project teams in delivering NPI and global product consistency through knowledge and expertise in Raw Materials
* Work collaboratively with Technical and Quality teams and the Contract Manufacturers to drive forward efficiencies, improvement, contingencies, KPIs and collaborative plans with raw material suppliers
* Provide forward forecasts to key Raw Material suppliers and manage contract status
* Manage and evolve the Raw Material database to ensure all contacts, leads, and potential supplier contacts are up to date
Background and competencies required:
* Degree Educated or equivalent
* A strong understanding of FMCG Purchasing and supply chain
* Strong supplier management and sourcing experience
* Highly computer literate - advanced excel
* Customer focused - experience of working collaboratively with key suppliers
* Excellent communication and influencing to develop strong relationships internally and externally
* Able to prioritise and allocate time effectively
* Strong team player
* Highly organised and motivated
