An innovative skill development provider for software professionals is eager to reach new customers and drive engagement with its fast-growing range of content. To help them do this, they are currently looking for 1 permanent UX Designer to join their team at their central Birmingham office.
The Role
The UX Designer ensures cohesion between the user and their multitude of platforms to support learning and development within the technology industry.
This role will work closely with Product Managers, QA and developers to understand the user requirements and design a suitable experience to allow the user to get the most from their system.
Reporting to the Head of Platform Development, this role will be a key driver for building engagement and retention of subscribers in this highly competitive market.
Responsibilities
- Creating a series of templates for content and usage patterns to build upon their brand for use within a series of web applications.
- Creating and using metrics for usability and user engagement alongside the data team.
- Designing features in an agile and fast-paced environment for rapid delivery and learning.
- Designing graphical artefacts to be used within applications as necessary (fonts, icons, labels etc.).
- Creating text content to support the user journey through the system.
Requirements
- Fantastic attention to detail: Able to see where minor changes can have major impacts to the customer and their ability to interact with their technologies.
- Graphical prowess: Can share a portfolio of innovative and stand-out design that also encompasses usability for an online product.
- Commercial judgment: Able to understand the commercial drivers that impact on their customers and can discuss solutions in terms of business benefit and ROI.
- Customer focus: Seeks to understand customer needs, and puts this at the heart of decision making. Is able to get inside the mind of the customer, and can be interested in the same things as their customers.
- Innovation and change: Introduce fresh insight and ideas, continually seeking improvement.
- Articulate and clear: Can put ideas across simply and clearly, and organize a complex reality into a simple and logical structure.
