Operations Manager - £28,000 - Edgware / Mill Hill

Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you will be a key member of the Head Office team. You will be working in a fast-paced and intellectually demanding environment. As this role supports the Operations Director, you will be involved in a diverse range of activities across the business.

The role of Operations Manager will suit someone who is highly organised and enjoys working in an environment where no two days are the same!

Gensmile is a private equity-backed company building a new dental chain through acquisition of dental practices. The company was founded in October 2014 and has a current turnover of £6 million. It is actively looking to grow through additional acquisitions and organic development of the seven practices it owns already.

The core responsibilities for the post are:

Operations Management

  • ensure information from our dental sites is submitted on time and collated accordingly 
  • negotiate group deals and obtain quotes from suppliers for the dental practices

Finance & Reporting

  • create and develop reporting templates 
  • assist with budget management and monitor income and expenditure reporting 
  • manage existing databases 

Office Management

  • manage day to day operations and oversee office administration 
  • manage hard and electronic filing systems 
  • organise internal and external meetings, including booking venues, accommodation and taking minutes 
  • screening phone calls, enquiries and requests from new suppliers and handling them when appropriate

Other

  • carrying out background research and presenting findings
  • to undertake projects on behalf of the operations director 
  • carry out other duties and tasks as required

 

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

Essential / Desirable Qualifications:

  • degree educated / grade of 2:1 or above

Essential Knowledge:

  • an understanding of how businesses work

Essential Experience:

  • using standard office applications including email, word processing and spreadsheets
  • working as part of a team

Desirable Experience:

  • work experience in a financial or professional services firm, or in the HQ of a multisite (e.g. retail) business

Essential IT Skills:

  • use of spreadsheets
  • sourcing information using the web
  • proficient use of Excel and Word
