Our client is the only free confidential helpline providing information, friendship and advice to older people, 24/7. They regard people as its most important asset and as the Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for the overall administration of the payroll and expenses.
Responsibilities:
* Preparation of payroll for 200 employees
* Processing pension and auto-enrolment entries
* Be involved in the process of forecasting call volumes based on current trends in order to assess if rota changes
* Liaising with the HMRC and ensure tax and Ni codes are up to date
* Maintain annual leave and sickness records for all departments
* Answer any queries from employees concerning payroll, holidays, statutory entitlements etc
* Carry out other HR administrative duties as required
Skills and Experience:
* You should hold an AAT Certificate in Payroll Administration or be qualified by experience
* Be literate with current UK payroll legislation
* Be experienced in the operation of payrolls, gained over several years in a similar position preferably with experience in SAGE Payroll (or similar)
* Knowledge and or experience of rota and workforce management systems
* You should be computer literate, with an aptitude towards spreadsheets and word processing
* Strong communication skills
* Demonstrable skills in working collaboratively and flexibly
* Proficient use of databases, MS Office applications, particularly, excel, and word
* Managing and prioritising own workload, ability to work on own initiative
* Commitment and the ability to work in a pressurised but exciting environment
