Position: Business Analyst (SME)
Location: City of London
Job Type: Full Time
The company client is an innovative and competitive London business who are actively seeking to recruit a tenacious and driven Business/Systems Analyst for their office team based in the City. The successful applicant will be able to understand business requirements and manage the translation of these into a functional specification. Job summary:
* The role will primarily be working with the development of new products in a core underwriting system (SSP Pure) for commercial SME business.
* This will include involvement in the initial analysis stages, working with the off-shore development team, performing the system testing and coordinating the UAT.
* This role will establish the road map for my clients SME market platform and help drive this vision forwards
Top responsibilities for this position will include:
* Analysis of key requirements, gathering information from business users
* Documentation of the scope and functional specifications
* Handover of requirements to developers and testers, or to third party suppliers
* Assisting with the configuration of new products on the SSP Pure system, including: reference data, document templates and rating
* Assessing the impact on downstream systems, such as General Ledger, Management Information and Reinsurance systems and instigating changes to interfaces where required
* System testing and support of the user community through UAT
* User signoff for enhancements and new releases
* Co-ordination of the product through each of the above stages
* Establish roadmap for SME market platform and drive forward these changes and improvements.
* Work with the wider market to understand the opportunities it provides and where appropriate make use of these market driven changes.
Experience and competencies required:
* Experience of working with commercial SME software systems such as: SSP, Acturis, Open GI, CDL etc.
* Ability to write SQL queries for analysis and testing purposes
* Strong understanding of the full lifecycle of system development and the use of Agile methodologies
* Good working knowledge of MS Office
* Use of Atlassian products, such as Jira Software would be useful.
* Educated to degree level
* Minimum 3-5 years as a Business/Systems Analyst (business requirements gathering)
* Minimum 3 years Insurance experience in the commercial SME market working on new underwriting product builds and their maintenance
