We are recruiting Support Workers to our Reablement and Assessment Care Team. The services main aim is to work alongside people in regaining their physical well being and relearning the skills necessary for daily living, with intensive support over a 6-8 week period. This includes aspects from personal care, medication and support with cooking.

One of the brilliant perks with this service is that we can be accommodating around working hours and working days. Our staff team provide support between the hours of 7:00 to 22:00 on a 2 week rolling shift pattern. We are really happy to consider part time support workers or weekend only contracts.

For this position it is essential that you are a car driver with access to a car for work use. The service covers the whole of the Winchester borough and travel time and expenses are paid.

Our staff team help to maximise long term independence meaning people get to remain in or return to their own homes and live their lives. It's key that in this role you are doing things with and alongside people with your focus being on enablement and empowerment. You will be supporting individuals with varied support needs over a 6 week period. This could include all aspects of support from; personal care, medication, support with cooking etc (experience in support is preferred, however training is provided).

The types of people we need are approachable, friendly, professional and supportive. You will need to be as passionate as we are about being the best we can be, and showing it in everything we do. It goes without saying that you'll be familiar with appropriate regulations, and legislation. You will need to think creatively, positively and on your own initiative.

Experience of working with people to regain their independence is an absolute essential to be appointed to this role. You need to be a car driver as you will not only be out and about with people in their own homes and in the community, but you also need to visit local hospital and other medical professionals such as physiotherapists. As you can imagine being able to develop good rapport and relationships with other professionals such as the Community Response team is really important.
