Joining them as a WIN (Wellbeing and Independence Network) Activities Coordinator, you will provide a varied and appropriate programme of physical/health and well-being promotion activities based around the needs and desires of people aged 18+. This is a 2 year fixed term contract.
Working in partnership with other Wellbeing and Independence Network organisations, you will promote and coordinate a wide variety of social, leisure and pleasure activities appropriate for a range of age groups and abilities, to be delivered 7 days a week. Building a network of volunteers to ensure the widest programme of trips, activities and events are available throughout the borough and beyond, you must actively encourage participation from key customer groups and plan, publicise and facilitate the activities and evaluate the outcomes.
With experience of recruiting and working with volunteers, you should have recent experience of organising activities for older and/or disabled people and their carers, or similar and have a good working knowledge of IT and Microsoft Office applications. Listening to and understanding the needs of older people, disabled people and their carers relating to social and wellbeing activities, you must identify gaps in the provision of activities and utilise current best practice in the promotion of new activities.
Due to the nature of the role, candidates must be able to drive and have access to a vehicle for work purposes.
