A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join one of the most forward thinking local authorities, helping to capitalise on unprecedented, globally significant opportunities for economic growth. Wirral’s Growth Plan is bringing partners together to ensure that the Borough’s economic potential is maximised by delivering new approaches to driving further investment and growth.
The delivery of the Wirral Growth Plan is a key priority for the Council – ensuring that activity is focused to deliver maximum impact, focussing on investment and jobs. This includes the UK’s biggest regeneration project – Wirral Waters, which with Enterprise Zone status is already having a major impact on the redevelopment of the area. Ensuring that businesses grow, inward investment is attracted and Wirral residents can access the employment opportunities are key features of the Growth Plan.
The Council is a key player wtihin the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority - working closely with the other five local authorities and with the Local Enterprise Partnership to maximise the opportunities arising from the Devolution agenda to deliver the area’s full economic potential.
In order to continue to drive outstanding economic growth and to ensure that we capitalise on the opportunities to attract investment to deliver a range of exciting and transformational projects we are now seeking to appoint an experienced, dynamic and commercially aware economic development professional. As an Economic Development Lead for Wirral you will be at the forefront of changing the investment landscape within the Borough.
The successful applicant will join a high performing and focused team and will be required to work with a range of strategic partners across the public and private sectors to develop and deliver economic growth initiatives with a particular emphasis on inward investment. This includes supporting the delivery of complex and innovative initiatives and taking forward projects that will contribute to securing investment for the Borough.
