This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly capable individual to join their development team and support our ambitious growth plans. Joining their team of talented designers and developers, you will be working on their own rapidly growing Software-as-a-Service products as well as bespoke web and mobile applications that we produce and support for a wide variety of clients.

They are keen advocates of developing on the latest open source platforms and frameworks, using appropriate tools to develop and test their projects and applying agile methodologies to manage them. As part of your role, you will have the opportunity to help shape the way they do things and ensure we remain at the cutting edge of best development practices.

In summary, they are currently looking for someone with the following essential skills and experience in:

- PHP, with experience using frameworks, particularly Laravel
- Object-Oriented programming
- Database Systems and SQL
- Source code management using Git
- HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Linux server management using SSH
- Security, Testing and Quality Assurance

Working as part of a small team, your role will be varied and you will need to be responsible for managing your time. They are therefore seeking someone who can demonstrate self-motivation and efficient time management. You will be client-facing therefore effective communication skills and an excellent client manner are essential.

It would also be nice if you had experience in:

- jQuery
- iOS development (Objective C or Swift)
- Android development (Java)
- Code and performance optimisation
- Software Analysis and Design

Whilst you will be predominantly based at their Derby City Centre office, there may be occasions requiring you to travel to clients or training sessions. They are therefore considering applicants with a valid driving licence and own vehicle favourably.
