We are currently looking to recruit a part time Swimming Teacher to work at Quarry Fitness Centre on a 9 hours per week basis. The swimming teacher will deliver lessons to customers and have responsibility for the safety and skill advancement of the people within their care.

The Quarry Swimming and Fitness Centre has a range of facilities and offers a variety of activities for all ages. From fun family swim sessions and swimming lessons for children and adults to energetic aqua fit classes to and relaxing sauna in the health suite - there is something for everyone.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
* To instruct individuals or groups in the art of swimming and other associated aquatic activities
* To provide schemes of work and lesson plans relevant to the instruction being undertaken
* To ensure the safe use and storage of any equipment required during a lesson
* To record information relevant to each lesson content and any other associated information
* To provide instruction in line with the Amateur Swimming Associate (ASA) National Plan for Teaching Swimming
* To attend badge assessment sessions as required
* To promote and support the Swimming Programme

Essential Skills
Qualification Level
* Possess a professional swimming qualification equivalent to the Amateur Swimming Association Level 1 or Level 2
* Hold a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification or relevant lifesaving award - desirable

* Extensive and up to date knowledge of current swim teaching practices
* Knowledge of current safety requirements for management of swimming lessons
* Good planning ability
* A good communicator
* Confident instructing groups of people
* Good class management and motivation skills
* Customer care skills
* Team player
