We’re now looking to hire a new Assistant Technical Coordinator to be part of our team based at Knostrop, Leeds.

The Assistant Technical Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the Waste Treatment Division Commercial Team with the technical assessment of enquiries, preparation of transportation documentation, collation of data and preparation of data for invoicing.

Your key tasks will include:
• Ensuring that the technical control of the sales enquiry process is carried out and conforms to legal requirements and good practice
• Gathering information from waste producers and customers and accurately interpreting waste data to determine composition and identify safe handling and disposal requirements as well as FCC’s ability to accept and process safely and profitably
• Negotiating disposal prices with customers
• Ensuring that the assessment of sales enquiries are accurate and timely
• Ensuring that the production of invoicing and other data to monitor sales progress is accurate and timely
• Assisting in the management of company vehicles collecting waste on behalf of the Waste Treatment Division including liaising with the client, preparing transport and waste documentation and advising drivers and clients
• Managing and ensuring that activities with regard to the movement of wastes to other disposal facilities conform to legal requirements, are at costs within budgeted expenditure and/or as cost effective as possible and comply with good practice
• Working with the team in the implementation of Health & Safety awareness at the local plants

Our Assistant Technical Coordinator will need the following:
• A degree in chemistry / minimum HND in chemistry or related subject
• Hazardous waste or chemical industry experience
• Experience of determining the best methods of handling dangerous chemicals
• Knowledge of and confidence in using Microsoft Office
• Problem solving skills
• Be able to work as part of a small team under supervision as well as alone managing your own workload
• A customer focused & team player approach
• Excellent communication skills
• A flexible approach to your working day
