Our client has high aspirations for their students, with excellent specialist resources to support learning.  Over £50M has been invested in recent years into their Altrincham campus and Centre for Science and Technology.  The College has STEM assured status, four National Skills Academies for excellence in Retail, Financial Services, Sport & Active Leisure, and Hospitality and close links with employers, resulting in great opportunities for our students.

They are recruiting to their team of Student Progress Tutors whose prime focus is to provide support, guidance, motivation and inspiration to the 16-19 students through the delivery of a tutorial curriculum which ensures students are actively engaged in their education and achieve good punctuality, attendance, behaviour, achievement and progression.  As well as focusing on student’s educational welfare and achievement, Student Progress Tutors will provide students with support in relation to employability, time management, organisational skills, personal development and health and wellbeing. Further, they welcome applications for those with curriculum knowledge of vocational subjects or A Levels. Experience of working in a similar role is desirable.

Working closely with teaching staff and their students, the Student Progress Tutors will play a vital role in achieving the College’s strategy for increasing value added by ensuring academic targets in relation to attendance, retention and achievement are suitably stretching and are monitored, achieved and preferably exceeded.

Excellent time management and organisation skills coupled with a flexible approach are essential as is the ability to work positively with children and young people and an understanding of the importance of following the college’s policies and procedures. With Maths and English GCSE and a degree or equivalent vocational qualification, you will have knowledge of the issues facing 16-19 year olds and experience of supporting young people to achieve their goals. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to empathise with and be supportive to both academic staff and students alike. The ability to work with and meet the needs of diverse groups of learners and the ability to develop a sound knowledge of curriculum areas will be essential.
