Clinical Technologist (Mechanical Engineer)

• Band 6
• £26,302 - £35,225 per annum
• 37.5 hours per week

Based in the Mechanical Engineering Service at the Freeman Hospital Newcastle Upon Tyne, this is an opportunity for a well-motivated individual to play an important role as a member of a professional team committed to providing high quality engineering solutions. This includes medical device development, custom rehabilitation equipment, and modification of commercial diagnostic and therapy systems. You will assist in the delivery of projects and undertake a range of duties including problem solving, design, manufacture and documentation.

You must possess a recognised engineering apprenticeship and be experienced in mechanical manufacture; with an HNC, HND or equivalent in mechanical engineering. You will have the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with staff , suppliers and customers and possess a good knowledge of IT software packages such as Microsoft Office.

Experience of CNC programming and operation and CAD/CAM is essential and T.I.G welding is desirable.
