At any given time, you’ll find them working on some circa 400 developments in both towns and rural areas across the UK, and every one poses unique challenges. Some are from scratch on brownfield sites; others see those adapting existing buildings, like old factories or disused hospitals. They need people who can bring them fresh ideas and imagination on one hand, and the commercial ability to manage people, budgets and costs on the other.

Within the Construction environment, think about buying materials, managing big projects, ensuring health and safety and customer service.

Passionate about quality and with plenty of experience of driving complex build programmes in the housing sector, you will understand the importance of the customer, and the importance of keeping your team focused on it too. Most of all, you will have a positive attitude and the flexibility needed to adapt to changing situations.

Supporting the Site Manager in co-ordinating trades, direct labour and materials to meet the production programme, you will accept responsibility for such duties and responsibilities as the Site Manager may determine, in particular, as and when required, deputise for the Site Manager. You will assist and support with the onsite construction team, ensuring it is fully resourced and well directed with clear guidelines to their own job and responsibilities in terms of communication, training and development, organisation of site workload and resources.

Candidates will hold an NVQ qualification or similar relevant to this role and will have developer experience. You will ideally have up to date knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and building legislation, especially NHBC requirements, with experience of working within a trade background, although this is not essential. Above all you will have excellent communication and organisational skills, an understanding of good customer service skills, and the ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.

Candidates must have a full clean driving licence.
