Automation Technical Sales Engineer

Location: North West / M62 corridor.


Synopsis: We are seeking an experienced Automation Technical Sales Engineer to Join a new vertical sales team in BPX to contribute to the continued growth and success of the business. The ideal candidate will have industry experience, technical and commercial knowledge. The ability to build lasting business relationships with new customers and develop existing customers to their maximum potential.

The Role of Automation Technical Sales Engineer:

The Automation Technical Sales Engineer will be responsible for providing pre-sales technical knowledge, advice and support to external customers, to develop Schneider Automation and Software sales growth for BPX Group, in line with company targets.

The role will consist of developing existing accounts and new business development targets identified with technical solutions in conjunction with the BPX OEM Sales team.

UK Sales & Business Development Key Objectives:

  • Increase Schneider OEM product spend in all accounts
  • Grow franchise product sales within all accounts
  • Grow nett profit
  • Management of training needs.

Responsibilities of the Automation Technical Sales Engineer:

  • To promote the day to day sales activity of Schneider OEM solutions products.
  • Extensive experience in PLC, VSD, HMI, Servo and SCADA programming
  • The ability to make favourable impressions on others will be an important attribute.
  • It is important that the job holder can demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and demonstrate excellent technical insight.
  • To be instrumental in finding and converting New Business development opportunities and priority target accounts.
  • To offer training, advice and assistance to their designated branches.
  • Attend joint customer visits with BPX OEM Sales Engineers, Sales Engineers, Senior Managers and other specialist teams to all accounts.
  • Ensure own level of personal development and product knowledge is kept up to date
  • Communicate and interface with all other branches and departments on commercial issues and portray a professional image at all times
