We are now seeking a commercially driven General Manager for our Croydon based operation. This high profile opportunity will report to the Regional Director and will entail leading the commercial and operational activities of an integrated Fire & Security Business Unit whilst growing market share and profitability across this South London, Surrey and Middlesex region.
This will require a relentless focus on sales, operational delivery and continuous improvement of business processes and people revolving around the following functional areas Security Install, Security Service, Fire Detection (Alarms Servicing & Small Works) and Fire Portables. Key responsibilities will be the delivery of financial performance, operational effectiveness, customer service, people management, working capital management, EHS and ethics & compliance.
You will possess strong people and operational management experience with at least 5 years proven track record of delivering results with P&L accountability. You will be commercially astute and ideally with a security and/or fire industry market understanding. You will at least have come from a technical service sector and have a proven track record of operating at a senior level in a large complex organisation.
As a strong, credible and charismatic leader you will be a results orientated completer who possesses excellent influencing abilities. You will also be highly numerate and IT literate, with proven analytical capabilities.
In order to meet the demands of our fast changing, corporate business, you will need to be able to adjust to high pressure, changing business conditions and uncertain business environments.
Snapshot duties would entail ensuring the service portfolio increases year on year for all core revenue streams, ensuring business unit achieves monthly, quarterly and long term revenue targets, maximising cross-selling, developing accurate plans & forecasts, taking P&L responsibility for the region, ensuring costs are tightly controlled, monitoring business unit stock levels and working effectively with central shared services, reducing disputes and minimising aged debtors, enhancing the people talent in the business, motivating and coaching teams & individuals, improving productivity through areas such as engineer efficiency, accurate estimation, net recovered margin, ensuring service levels meet contractual and regulatory standards, ensuring all staff comply with UTC's Code of Ethics and that all EH&S matters are adhered to.
