TEACHING ASSISTANTS

Priory School is a large, inclusive primary school, with over 900 pupils. The school has a 60 place resource unit for children with a range of complex needs, including physical, sensory and medical difficulties, ASD and social, emotional and mental health difficulties.

can-do approach.

The school requires high calibre Teaching Assistants who are confident with their curriculum knowledge to give high quality literacy and numeracy support to children. Your duties will include assisting the class teacher with the set-up of the classroom routine / activities, encouraging positive behaviour and interaction amongst children and leading groups of children with Maths, English and reading activities based around learning outcomes. You will be expected to apply your skills and experience to encourage active learning though play and activities. This is an exciting opportunity for a committed Teaching Assistant who is looking to further develop their experience.

Salary is (£15,213 FTE, £11,455 actual 32.5 hours (8.30 am until 3.30 pm) per week, term time plus 5 INSET). In addition, our Teaching Assistants provide 1 duty cover per week in our Extended Care facility, which operates 7.30am – 9.00am and 15:30 – 18:00.
