Job Title: Assistant Shop Manager

Location: Portishead, Bristol (BS20)

Salary: £7.30 per hour

Hours: 16 hours per week over 2 days

Closing Date: 27th October 2016

Job Role:

Not only does our Client treat more conditions than any other UK charity in their hospices, neurological care centres and out in the community; they also campaign to improve the lives of people living with them. They see the person, not the condition, taking time to understand the small things that help that person live the fullest life they can. Their shops, fundraising and volunteers support them to be there for people at the most difficult time of their lives.

This is a bright and airy community shop in Portishead with easy level access from both the High Street and the marina, run by a happy friendly team of staff and volunteers. Nestled between Waitrose and the library, this shop caters for all needs, from children's clothes, books and toys to good quality menswear. Their ladies wear department is full of desirable, fashionable and high end items donated both locally and further afield.

As an Assistant Shop Manager, you'll help to create a well-presented shop where customers get great service. It's a varied role, offering invaluable support to the manager, as you maximise sales, control expenditure and handle stock as part of a dedicated team. Remember that you could often be moving stock - which may involve lifting heavy goods or furniture.

To do this, you need to have retail experience, preferably in a supervisory position, be organised and IT-literate, with natural teamwork skills. You should also have a GCSE-level education, good basic arithmetic and a gift for dealing with people. With these talents, you'll deliver retail excellence to grow income and make a difference to the Healthcare and the people they support.

Their growing numbers of shops are one of the most important ways in which they raise money to support people living through the challenges of life-changing illness. So when you become an Assistant Manager at one, you're not just helping them to turn a profit - you're helping to improve the lives of the people they exist to help.
