Achievement Support Worker

Hours of work: 14.8 hours per week, term time only - 40 weeks per year
Salary: GBP21,060 - GBP21,989 per annum or pro-rata for part-time
GBP7,223 - GBP7,542 - actual salary for 14.8 hours per week, term time only
Location: Wakefield City Campus
To reduce the level of student absence and improve retention and achievement by offering mentoring support to students at risk both on an ad-hoc and regular basis.
To monitor and record interventions and outcomes for at risk learners through the use of College systems.
Ensure the wellbeing of students and support their potential to progress
As an Achievement Support Worker, you should have:
- GCSE A*-C in English and Maths or the equivalent
- A recognised level 2 mentoring or counselling qualification
You should also be able to demonstrate:
- Experience of mentoring/counselling young people and the ability to access a range of support services on their behalf
- Experience of supporting young people in an educational setting
- Experience of supporting young people at risk of disengaging
- The ability to support students in a formal learning environment as well as in informal situations.
