Traffic Operator

Based in Colne, our client is an established Road Haulage business. They currently have an opportunity to join the company as a Traffic Operator.
About the Traffic Operator Job:
The successful candidate will be required to work within a fast moving Transport planning office looking after driver and customer engagement as well as route planning.
Responsibilities will include:
• Efficient transport planning of routes to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and the changing of plans as required, based on demand and vehicle location
• Ensuring the team effectively plan and coordinate transport and vehicle routes by fully utilising own vehicles to the required levels of customer service, whilst also adhering to Drivers hours legislation and maintenance requirements
• Maintaining an excellent standard of communication with customers, drivers (including briefing/debriefing) and the internal team
• Booking loads and informing the appropriate teams of any changes, including utilising available systems
• Subcontract work in an efficient manner to approved parties in line with company policy
• Responsibility for generating loads from new and existing customers
• Ensuring Health & Safety is adhered to at all time
About You
The successful candidate will have the following attributes:
• Experience working in a Transport office as a Transport Planner, Transport Coordinator or similar positions
• Demonstrate competence of engagement with customers on a daily basis
• Excellent IT Literacy and Transport system knowledge
• Knowledge of UK Road Law & Legislation (CPC will be advantageous)
• Ability to work in a fast moving environment and adaptable to last minute change
• LGV1 licence an advantage.
