Our aim as a Council is to enable all children and young people to have positive aspirations, learn and achieve their potential, and ensure that Welsh Language and culture is promoted and supported. To continue our progress towards this aim, we need a committed and experienced individual to help deliver the aims set out in our ambitious Council Plan.
As the Statutory Education Officer responsible for Education throughout the County Borough and as a member of the Strategic Management Team, you will be joining a strong team which is determined to continue to give Children and Young People the best start in life. The post holder will have a key role in the strategic and operational leadership and development of Education within the County. The Council is undergoing a significant change programme to achieve new models of service delivery whilst meeting the Education challenges and achieving key financial targets.
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate a strong professional background, a track record of supporting schools within a challenging change environment, a commitment to the wider welfare of Children and Young People, and the ability to lead a highly motivated team of professional colleagues within a rigorous financial context. They will have the ability to work with service partners, have a significant track record of managing change and delivering improvements and innovation to key services, whilst managing multi-million pound budgets across diverse range of services. They will also be able to role model the positive behaviours in line with the Council’s values – Trust, Respect, Innovation, Commitment, Integrity and Flexibility.
