Deputy Nurse Manager

Glyn Menai has gained an excellent reputation for dementia care since it opened in 2008. Working with the DSDC we have collaborated on both the use of music as therapy, and the development of a tablet based app for reminiscence. Our next project will see an MSc research student based at the home working on enhancing life experience for people with later stage dementias. This is the kind of forward looking, vibrant environment which now needs a clinical lead to guide its development.

Reporting to the Nurse Manager, you will be the senior nurse for Glyn Menai, leading an experienced and highly trained team. You will lead by example, but will also have two days each week where you will be supernumerary to the nursing numbers so that you can also attend to your managerial role. You will have a key role in the development of Fairways Care as well and will be required to attend monthly Senior Management Meetings.

We are very much at the forefront of elderly care: the only care organization in the area to have a full, computerised, care package back up available to staff for example; and the only employer to give staff the day off on their birthday with pay!
