Account Manager - Telecoms / IT

Job Title: Account Manager
Department/Location: Office-based in Bristol and home but with significant travel within UK.
Role: Office & Field Based Account Management
Salary Range: £24k - £26k, OTE £50k uncapped commission plan (neg dep on exp)
Hours of work: 9.00 am to 5.30 pm, Monday to Friday. Able to work extended hours on occasions when required. Occasional nights away per month.
Experience required: B2B Internal Account Management or Field Sales / Technology sector

Our client is a successful, fast growing business predominately operating in the fixed line voice and data market for SME's. The company specialises in the design, implementation and on-going support of unified IP communication systems for clients across the UK and Europe. Trading since 2007, the business has built a strong reputation for reacting quickly to client's needs and delivering excellent customer service.

There is now a requirement for an office / field based Account Manager to join the team. This is a mixed and varied role however the main focus of this position will be to assist the management growth and support of the company's client base. The account manager will be the main point of contact for a set client base. It will be the responsibility of the Account Manager to ensure they are in regular contact with their client accounts to ensure the clients are receiving the products and service levels they require. Also you will be proactive to identify new business and convert incoming leads generated from the company's marketing activities.

The ideal candidate will have a background in Sales for a Telecoms company (VoIP, hosted telephony, PBX, mobile, network services etc) however the company is also interested in strong candidates with the right Account Management background from other B2B Technology backgrounds who have the aptitude to learn a new product portfolio. The role is typically 60% office based and 40% Field based. The position could suit an Internal Sales person who would like to develop into Field Sales or alternatively a 100% based Field Sales person who would prefer to be more office based.

Summary of Position:

Drawing on a natural curiosity, the Account Manager will develop a thorough understanding of the Client's business and the industry, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement, developing creative solutions and having the tenacity and determination to ensure they are delivered to realise benefits for both the Client and the company.

To plan and execute sales activities in the UK, Maintain and develop sales of products and services in accordance with agreed business plan, processes and targets.

Primary Responsibilities:

*To establish, maintain and develop current and potential client relationships
*New business opportunities / lead generation in line with specific sales and marketing campaigns
*To present and sell the company's products and services to existing and potential clients whilst ensuring appropriate profit margins.
*To prepare presentations, proposals and quotations
*To respond to and follow up on sales enquiries, new leads and referrals
*Identify problems impacting on customer satisfaction and to implement a prompt and effective resolution through the management of all necessary resource
*To manage allocated account base. Quickly and efficiently responding to client queries and concerns, whilst working closely with other team members to ensure delivery of excellent customer service
*Maintain up to date and accurate customer and lead information on CRM and relevant systems

Personal Specification

Qualifications & Training

Ideally educated to Graduate Level


At least two years' relevant work experience in a sales role. Evidence of achieving targets in a sales role. Experience in telecoms industry (is desirable but not essential).
