Each year, we reach around 2,000 young people through an extensive programme of widening participation outreach activities. These aim to raise awareness of and aspirations to Higher Education among groups of students currently under-represented in HE. The Widening Participation Co-ordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting the Access and Schools/Colleges Liaison Manager in developing, delivering and evaluating the activities. This ranges from recruiting, training and supervising a team of student and graduate staff who deliver the activities to forging and maintaining positive links with teachers in relevant schools and colleges.
You must be qualified to degree level and have at least two years’ relevant experience which includes organising events and working with young people in an educational environment.
You will have excellent organisational, problem solving and interpersonal skills, as well as a genuine interest in equality issues.
Closing date for this post: 17 October 2016.
