The Institute of Our Lady of Mercy is a registered charity operating high quality person centred Residential, Nursing, Dementia Care and Close to Care Apartments across England and Wales.
The Mercy Care Centre provides residential care for older people and for people living with dementia in a purpose built facility, alongside a new development of 18 apartments providing “extra care housing”
Weekend Cook
£10.02 per hour
16 hours per week

You will play a key role within the home and will be responsible for delivering a flexible catering service. You will work closely with the Care Home Manager to ensure the catering needs of residents are fully met whilst adhering to the guidelines and regulations of the Environmental Health Department and Food Standards Agency. You will prepare and cook food that will help facilitate a healthy balanced diet, in accordance with the menu, presented in an appetising way to encourage enjoyment of the meal.
You will have:
- Basic food hygiene certificate
- Up to date knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice guidance.
- Experience of preparing and cooking nutritious meals for a large number of people.
