Job Description

Our organisation is growing and we now have an opening for a Credit Controller to join the finance team based in South Wales.

Duties include:

To ensure the value of monies owed to Synergy Health Laboratory Services (SHLS) is as low as possible, queries are resolved promptly and that the associated record keeping is accurate.

To manage and be accountable for the sales ledger, including:

·Accurate cash allocation to support sales ledger reporting

·Analyse the debtor ledger to prioritise work

·Resolve customer queries in relation to invoicing disputes

·Improve the ageing of the debt profile

·To advise of customer accounts requiring bad debt provision

·To assist other staff or functions within SHLS that may contribute to the sales ledger

·To transfer invoices and other relevant data to customer e-invoicing portals

·To ensure all credit card payments are processed and cheques bank regularly

·To prepare forms and supporting evidence to take legal action against customers

·Assist with the bank reconciliation

·To maintain an understanding of products and services offered by SHLS

·Report all incidents and adverse events to manager

·To comply with the relevant area of the SHLS Quality Manual

·To undertake any other reasonable duty, when requested to do so by an appropriate manager.

·Demonstrate on going competency against training plans and participate positively in CPD (continuous professional development) activities

Desired Skills and Experience

·Experience of a high volume invoice environment

·Experience of a complex product or service environment

·A fast learner with excellent attention to detail

·An understanding of confidentiality

·An appreciation of the importance of deadlines

·Good numeracy and computer literacy to a general standard in excel and other Microsoft Office packages.

·5 GCSE’s grade C or above including Maths & English or equivalent


·Healthcare sector experience

·Good knowledge of how a business operates

·Basic knowledge of VAT

·SAGE user
