WORKING HOURS: 37 hours Full-Time, Full Year


This Prescot based school is a mixed comprehensive secondary school accommodating students aged 11-18 years, a highly regarded and popular school within the Rainhill and St Helens area.

Our Prescot based secondary school are recruiting a Community Development officer to be based on the school grounds.

Using their excellent local knowledge and outstanding communication skills, you will be reaching out to the local community and promote the outstanding facilities the school have out to hire, from Artificial Pitch to Arts Theatre, as well as manage all bookings made from enquiry all the way through to hire.

This high pressured role will be suited to a creative individual, who can think outside of the box and create strategies to best promote the facilities.


Key Responsibilities of a Community Development officer to include:-

  • Promote facilities available to hire

  • Maximise use of facilities

  • Take incoming enquiries via phone and email

  • response effectively to all enquiries

  • Manage all bookings

You will be an exceptional individual with the schools best interest at heart by maximising the facilities on offer to the wider community within the Rainhill, Prescot and catchment area.

You will work well under pressure, have strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as be financially minded.


Key experience essential for Community Development officer the role:

  • have strong interpersonal skills

  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal

  • Work well under pressure

  • Minimum of B in GCSE Maths,

  • GCSE in English

  • Level 1 or 2 in coaching, NVQ or similar in Customer service, financial or business studies would be an advantage

  • Excellent business telephone manner

  • Smart and professional both in appearance and personality

  • First aid and child protection certificates would be an advantage
