Salary: £34,000 to £38,000

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

The company is one of Europe’s leading vehicle remarketers, auctioning in excess of 300,000 vehicles per year through their online auction technology across 14 UK facilities. They work with many of the world’s leading insurance, finance, banks, automotive dealers, fleet, and rental car companies who rely on their combination of advanced technology, robust processes, and their people to deliver industry leading performance.

Key Responsibilities:

The company is looking for an experienced General Manager with strong people management skills and general commercial acumen to lead an operation within the transport industry. As General Manager you will be directly accountable for delivering a strong, efficient and profitable operation. This will encompass: delivering performance against budget and for ensuring that your operation consistently meets and exceeds customers’ constantly changing requirements, location maintenance, managing Health & Safety, and ensuring compliance with H&S policies and procedures.

Leading a team of around 30 colleagues, you will be accountable for delivering excellent operational standards and creating a strong culture of customer focus in your location. You will be tasked with motivating and developing your team to consistently deliver against exacting operational processes, achieving success and maximising productivity. Providing an unmatched experience is high on this Company’s agenda and you will be expected to ensure that quality customer sales and service is consistently delivered continually improved upon.

  • Ability to motivate others
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Ability to be close to your operation whilst managing it effectively
  • Previous experience with high level of accountability and P&L ownership
  • Diverse operational experience with some exposure within transport arena being particularly desirable
  • Track record of delivering operational excellence
  • Strong commercial acumen
