Lancashire County Council has an exciting and challenging building programme, ranging from new-build projects through to extensions and alterations for schools, offices, libraries, children's homes, respite centres and outdoor education centres. We are looking for enthusiastic experienced Architects and Senior Technicians to join our team of Architects, Technicians and Interior Designers delivering a wide variety of schemes, working closely in a with our in-house multi-disciplinary team of Structural Engineers, M&E Engineers, QSs and Building Surveyors.
The post is a permanent full-time role based at County Hall within the Design and Construction Service.
The post holder will carry out a senior role in the design and management of a range of new buildings and refurbishment projects. You will have a record of delivering complex projects from inception to completion on site, within programme and budget.
The post holder will require excellent communications skills and a customer focused approach to service delivery.
The post holder will need a thorough knowledge of current standards relating to building including a thorough understanding of health and safety requirements. Experience of school projects will be particularly relevant. The post holder will be expected to provide the technical lead for the design team of staff engaged on common projects.
Most design is undertaken using computer packages for design and specification and the post holder will be expected to have familiarity with these systems.
