WORKING HOURS: 37 hours Full-Time, Full Year



This Prescot based school is a mixed comprehensive secondary school accommodating students aged 11-18 years, a highly regarded and popular school within the Rainhill and St Helens area.

Required for 1st November 2016 or earlier, the Governors of this successful and popular school based in Rainhill, Prescot wish to appoint a creative, experienced and forward thinking Marketing Manager to be responsible for developing, managing and delivering the school’s marketing and communications strategy to promote the school through campaigns and digital and social media.


Key Responsibilities of the Marketing Manager to include:-


  • Use creative and technical expertise to design, develop and maintain the School and Sixth Form Centre websites.

  • On a daily basis, gather information, news and relevant items and publish to website in a consistent style.

  • Maintain regular updates for information such as school newsletters, latest news, job vacancies, policies and contact details to ensure all website content is current.

  • Use relevant software, create professional quality publications, e.g. college newsletters, brochures, prospectus, flyers, promotional materials.

  • Write and edit into an appropriate style for publication ensuring all work is accurate and proofread.

  • Design and prepare marketing materials for internal and external purposes, e.g. Open Evening, local press.

  • Arrange for the effective distribution of marketing materials.

  • Contribute to, and develop, marketing plans and strategies.

  • Manage the school’s main social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo etc)


The above list of job duties is not exclusive or exhaustive and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope and grading of the post.



We are looking for a highly talented creative and organised individual. The successful candidate for the Marketing Manager position will work in partnership with senior leaders to produce promotional materials, social media output, as well as maintain and enhance the website. You will be pro-active and must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, be a team player, show high levels of initiative and work ethic to be successful in the post.


Key experience essential for Marketing Manager role:


  • Previous experience of working in a Marketing Environment

  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite Software (i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver) or equivalent.

  • Highly Skilled in Graphic Design

  • Web Design

  • Image editing/manipulation

  • Good standard of education including GCSE English and Mathematics (Grade C or above) or equivalent

  • Level 3 qualification (e.g. A Level) in graphic design, web design or similar

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Excellent organisational skills
